Description: Rice Bran Carrier Oil is extracted from the bran or outer coat of the brown rice grain removed during the rice milling process.
Rice bran oil (RBO) is popular in Asian countries such as Japan, India, Korea, China, and Indonesia as a cooking oil. It has been shown that RBO is an excellent cooking and salad oil due to its high smoke point and delicate flavor. RBO contains some phytochemicals, such as tocotrienols, tocopherols, phytosterols, polyphenols, squalene, and gamma-oryzanol, that are reported to have beneficial effects to human health.
Due to its antioxidant capacity, RBO has been reported to have some biological activities, such as decreasing the level of low density lipoprotein, lowering cholesterol, reducing blood pressure, and preventing colorectal cancer.
It is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, and essential oils. From the above description, Rice Bran Oil contains a constituent called gamma-oryzanol that is known to be safe to use in skin care formulations meant for outdoor use.
Rice Bran Carrier Oil has a high percentage of fatty acids and happens to be one of the best sources of tocotrienols as mentioned above. It is an antioxidant that may be much more powerful and effective than Vitamin E. It is a mild oil perfect for dry, flaky, sensitive, mature, and delicate skin (e.g. baby’s skin), where additional moisture is required, and is effective for keeping skin smooth.
